EVENTS IN LILLE DURING THE TOUR DE FRANCE
Discover Our StoriesTour Events
This page is a work in progress! I’m going to gradually add events as and when I hear about them… watch this space as they say!
So far, all that I can see that has been announced is that the Fan Zone is open July 3-5 at Place de la République (right). And Grand’Place is the setting for the team introductions on July 3. Both locations are very centrally located – Place de la République is on the Metro – and close to lots of bars and restaurants… It’s a 10-minute walk from the stations to Place de la République, three minutes to Grand’Place.

The Parade and Team Presentation
On Thursday, July 3, the 22 teams participating in the Tour will parade through the streets of central Lille, offering a unique spectacle for spectators. The parade will start from the Opera House and will go along rue Faidherbe, rue Molinel, and rue Pierre Mauroy before reaching the Grand’Place. This festive parade will take place between 6.00pm and 8.00pm.
Immediately afterward, the Grand’Place will host the official team presentation, a spectacular event broadcast internationally. Each rider will be introduced to the public between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
Start and Finish Area
The start village will be set up on the Champs-de-Mars esplanade in Lille, and the finish line will be near the Vauban Garden bridge (du pont du jardin Vauban).
